So this year I will be going on a natural hair challenge.  I will be leaving my cornrows in from February to July. I have done this before to my hair as I wanted to retain maximum growth. I cannot fully categorise this as a protective style as it does have the potential to damage hair ( This will not be my portion!!!).

I hope I will be able to achieve greater hair health and length. My hair is at decent length but I believe it is not making any huge improvements.

My hair regime:

  1. Pre poo 1-2 weeks
  2. Deep condition every 1 - 2 weeks
  3. Shampoo every 1-2 weeks
  4. moisturise and seal hair 4-7 times a week
  5. hot oil treatment 1-2 weeks (depends on when I wash my hair)
  6. Wear a satin bonnet daily!!!
Other things I want to try: Onion rises, tea rises (my hair loves this) and peppermint massages for my scalp.

I hope to incorporate more Ayurveda methods to my regime. I have made a mix that I will be adding to my conditioner when I deep condition  ( I will share this during BEDA Blog Every Day in April ).

. Check out the pictures below of my last long term cornrow challenge:
