Three Books I'm Reading in 2018
Thursday 1st March is national book day. In this post I will be sharing three books I plan to read this year.
For the last few years I have challenged myself to read more. I tend to read non -fiction I have read fiction in the past, tend to stir more to non- fiction.
So, for 2018 I am planning to read the following:
“One World” by H.M.S Richards (currently reading)
Why these books you may ask?
Well as for “One World” by HMS Richards I stumbled across this whilst visiting a church and anytime I visit they have a table of books you can take away. I am very sceptical of Christian authors but, I have come across Richards before, so I said let me give this book a read. So far so good. I love his writing style it is somewhat personable. He also touches on fundamental Christian beliefs and address misunderstood Christian concepts such as Can the dead speak to us.
Although, I am yet to finish this book, I would recommend it for those who want a better understanding on Christian beliefs. I hope this book will enlarge my understand on Christian topics and gives me some writing style inspiration.
“As A Man Thinketh” by James Allen. This book was recommend to me by a Deacon at church. Summaries of the book suggests it is a self-development book that has been influenced by a verse from the bible.
“…For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he..” – Proverbs 23:7.
I am looking forward to this book and hope it is filled with a lot of encouragement and points the reader to finding oneself in Christ as this is true development.
“The No Spend Year: How I spent Less and Lived More” by Michelle Mcgagh
You may have guessed from this post here.I really want to save money. I came across the author after reading an article she wrote on not spending. Mcgagh challenged herself to not spend on certain things for a year and successfully did so. I came across the book last January and decided that I had to get this book, so I did (a year and some change later). For this book I am hoping I can learn how to be more frugal.
Although, I have listed three books, I am hoping to read more than three books from cover to cover. I find reading is a must. It expands your mind and can change your life.
What are you currently reading?
