Words from a Wise Woman: Ellen G White

This post is not going to be as long as my normal posts. I do not want you to dwell too much on my words in this post but the words that I am going to share from this wise woman.

Ellen G White was a woman of God, her writings were inspired by God and are still very much applicable to the modern woman.

White did not have the easiest start to life but even with this she carried on. Her inspired words have changed the lives of many including myself. I hope you're blessed by these words also.

Quotes from Ellen G White

“It is not pleasing to God that you should demerit yourself.” (DG 142)

You should not place too low an estimate upon your ability to act your part in the various callings of practical life. Where you are aware of deficiencies, go to work at once to remedy those defects” (DG 143)

“We should love and respect one another, notwithstanding the faults and imperfections that we cannot help seeing.” (DG 143.2)

“…women can do a good work in explaining the truth to the people in their homes. The Word of God thus explained will do its leavening work, and through its influence whole families will be converted…” (DG 103)

“There is a great work for women to do in the cause of present truth. Through the exercise of womanly tact and a wise use of their knowledge of Bible truth, they can remove difficulties that our brethren cannot meet.” (DG111.3)

“Those who are now doing nothing should go to work. Let each sister who claims to be a child of God feel indeed a responsibility to help all within her reach. The noblest of all attainments may be gained through practical self-denial and benevolence for others’ good”. (DG117.1)

“Do not listen to Satan’s lies, but recount God’s promises. Gather the roses and the lilies and the pinks. Talk of the promises of God. Talk faith. Trust in God, for He is your only hope. He is my only hope. “(DG146.2)

I will in this one day do my best. I will use my talent of speech to be a blessing to some other one, a helper, a comforter, an example which the Lord my Saviour shall approve. I will exercise myself in patience, kindness, forbearance, that the Christian virtues may be developed in me today.” (1MCP 15.2)

  1. Wow, I love that quote above! The Lord is disappointed when we place a low estimate upon ourselves...

  2. It truly is something to think about. Thank you for your comment
