Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

In previous post, it was suggested purity is synonymous with righteousness both words connote correctness, virtue or doing what is right.

Purity: “free from corrupt desire, from sin and gift, innocent, unstained, with the guilt or anything, pure, clean or clear.
Heart: a soul or mind, seat of the thoughts, passions desire, appetites, affects, purposes, endeavours and will of character.
What do you fill your mind with?
To be pure in heart is to have your mind free from corrupt desires. God hates sin and the only way we will be able to stand before God is by being free from sin. This has only been made possible through Christ.
“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and present you faultless before the presence of him glory with exceeding joy” – Jude 1:24

"Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?

He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. " -Psalm 24:3-4

"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14

How can I become purer in heart? How can I have a purer mind?

"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."- Proverbs 4:23

The verse suggests we must guard our minds for everything we do comes from the mind.  We can be purer in mind by thinking carefully of what we expose ourselves too.  What we internalise not only impacts our minds but our body. Both mind and body are intertwined.

"The relation that exists between the mind and the body is very intimate. When one is affected, the other sympathizes. The condition of the mind affects the health to a far greater degree than many realize. Many of the diseases from which men suffer are the result of mental depression. Grief, anxiety, discontent, remorse, guilt, distrust, all tend to break down the life forces and to invite decay and death." - White, 1905

Some of us are very particular with what we put into our body as we care for our body let us also think of our mind.

"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Proverbs 4:23
